i.shodo shockwaveWelcome to i.shodo, the electronic calligraphy drawing software. Sho is Japanese calligraphy, shodo is "the way of sho."

i.shodo is created by shimodaworks.com for the novel The Fourth Treasure, written by Todd Shimoda and illustrated by L.J.C. Shimoda, published by Nan A. Talese/Doubleday in April 2002. The software is also created to be used with L.J.C. Shimoda's visual journaling book Glyphix: Drawing Out the Words Within, published by Stone Bridge Press in April 2002.

PLUGINS: To use i.shodo, you will need the Macromedia Shockwave and PrintOMatic plugins. To check if you have these plugins, go to the PrintOMatic demo page.

START: When you are ready to start, click the i.shodo icon. To draw, click and drag a brush to the paper. Release the mouse. While holding down the SPACE bar, click and drag the brush. Draw slowly to leave a lot of ink, draw fast to leave less ink.
